7 Days Great Migration Safari
Wildebeest migration is one of the things you don’t want to miss while planning your bucket list of a safari of a lifetime, this gives you an opportunity to see great migration to and from Maasai Mara into Serengeti National park. This trip is recommended for June to October.
Day 01:
Nairobi - Lake Manyara
At 9 a.m. you will be picked by a guide who will drive you from Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park. At the park you will enjoy a game drive where you will see animals like antelopes, buffalos, giraffes, zebras, monkeys and elephants among others. Also to be spotted are several bird species like flamingos, hornbills, pelicans etc. Enjoy the breathtaking tropical forests, lush vegetation and mahogany trees at the park. Drive back to your designated lodge/camp for dinner and accommodation.
Day 02:
Lake Manyara - Northern Serengeti
Take an early morning breakfast and thereafter depart for Serengeti National Park. The Serengeti is famous for the Great Migration that happens every year and its diverse animal/birds population. Arrive in the afternoon and have your lunch. Set out for an afternoon game drive before driving back to your designated lodge/camp for dinner.
Day 03:
Explore the Great Migration
Breakfast will be served early in the morning after which you will go for a walking safari. Thereafter spend the rest of the day exploring the Serengeti. Spot animals like wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, lions and various bird species. Drive back to the lodge in the evening for dinner.
Day 04:
Northern Serengeti - Central Serengeti
This day will also be spent exploring the Serengeti. If you’re lucky to visit during the wildebeest migration, you will have the pleasure of witnessing millions of wildebeests and zebras migrating. The Great Migration which has been named one of the Wonders of the World will be one of the most memorable things about this safari. After a full day game drive, drive back to your lodge/camp in time for dinner.
Day 05:
Central Serengeti - Ngorongoro Crater
After an early morning breakfast, depart for Africa’s Eden; Ngorongoro Crater. The crater covers an area of 264Km2 and is 2,500 ft in depth placing it in the list of the largest calderas in the world. Make a stop at Olduvai Gorge also known as the cradle of mankind which was discovered by Louis and Mary Leakey. Arrive at the Crater and make your way to your designated camp/lodge for lunch. You can choose to spend your afternoon visiting Maasai village or just relax at the lodge.
Day 06:
Explore Ngorongoro Crater
Today will be spent exploring Ngorongoro Crater. Breakfast will be served early in the morning after which you will set out for a full day game drive at the crater’s floor. The crater is home to animals like antelopes, rhinos, jackals, zebras, hippos etc. and birds like flamingos. Drive back to your lodge for dinner.
Day 07:
Ngorongoro - Arusha
Have an early breakfast and thereafter return to Arusha where you will take your flight home.
