This safari runs through the Northern Kenya region to see the unique Samburu game
reserve before heading to Mount Kenya for a chimpanzee tracking in Ol pajeta

conservancy and the only place to see them in the country before flying to the majestic
Masai Mara National reserve for the wildebeest migration.

Day 1:
Nairobi –Samburu Game reserve

Depart this morning and drive to the Domestic Wilson airport for your flight to Samburu.
This welcomes you to the semi-arid bush country of the northern Frontier. You will be
received at the airstrip and transferred to Samburu intrepid Camp for your lunch. An
afternoon shared game drive scheduled in this rugged and rustic landscape. Samburu is
famous for its endemic and rare species which include reticulated giraffe, Gerenuk,
Somali ostrich, Grevy Zebra and Beisa Oryx. Big cat like lion, cheetah and leopard can
also be seen here. Sunsets at Samburu are spectacular offering a beautiful backdrop
for you. Return to lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2:
On safari in Samburu

After breakfast enjoy a full day of game viewing in this northern frontier in shared
transport. Your options are wide from the scheduled game drives to the optional guided
nature walks and cultural visits. Samburu itself is physically dramatic featuring rocky
battlements, dry river beds, extensive thorn shrub and the backdrop of the distant hills of
the Northern Frontier District Return to camp at in the late afternoon. Enjoy spectacular
sunset views from the comfort of your veranda before dinner and overnight at Camp.

Day 3:
Departure to Ol pajeta Conservancy

Depart Samburu in the morning and enjoy a private drive to the rich and fertile central
highlands. Arrive at the Sweetwater’s tented camp in time for lunch. After your lunch
proceed for an afternoon game drive in search of the Rhinos and other wildlife at the Ol
pajeta conservancy. The Sweetwater’s Chimpanzee Sanctuary is the only one of its
kind in Kenya. Here visitors can enjoy the unique opportunity of observing the orphaned
chimps that vary in age from 2-15 yrs. Most of these chimps have originality at the Jane
Goodall Institute in Burundi. Enjoy the sights and sounds of Mans closest relative.
Return to camp for your overnight stay.

Day 4:
Departure to Masai Mara game reserve.

Today, you will exit the Laikipia plateau and head out to the most famous wildlife arena
in Africa. Maasai Mara is famous for its large cat families and the wildebeest migration
that takes place between the months of July and September depending on the climate
changes.
You will be transferred to the Nanyuki airstrip for your flight to Maasai Mara. Picnic
lunch enroute.
You will be picked from the airstrip and transferred to the Mara intrepid camp for your
stay.
Enjoy a late afternoon game drive in the expansive Mara plans. Animals here include
the big five, hoofed mammals including wildebeests, buffaloes, gazelles, elands and
more.

Day 5:
Safari in Maasai Mara game reserve.

Enjoy the sights and sounds for the African wild for the next two days. You have
optional activities that you can indulge in. this include hot air balloon safari,
Apart from the big five, there are lots of birds of prey and not forgetting the tall athletic Maasai
tribesmen. You may be lucky enough to see a hunt. Cross your fingers for a hunt which can be one
of the most rewarding and exciting action to see on safari. Maasai Mara hosts the world
famous spectacle of the annual migration of up to two million wildebeest, thousands of
zebra and an escort of carnivores from the Serengeti plains, following the rains and
succulent new grass. Enjoy as nature's dramas unfold before your very eyes at every
turn.

Day 6 :
Departure to Nairobi.

After your early morning game drive and buffet breakfast, you bid farewell to the sights and
sounds of Africa. You will be transferred to the airstrip for your flight to Nairobi.
Upon arrival you will be received and transferred to airport for your outbound flight.
