8 Days Best Of Tanzania Safari

Embarking on an 8-day safari in Tanzania promises an unforgettable adventure immersed in breathtaking landscapes and teeming wildlife. As you traverse the diverse ecosystems, you’ll have the chance to witness an incredible array of animals in their natural habitats. Stand in awe as you explore Tarangire National Park, known for its majestic baobab trees and large herds of elephants. Marvel at the stunning vistas of Lake Manyara, where you might spot flamingos and playful primates amidst lush greenery. Experience the iconic Serengeti, renowned for its vast savannahs and the Great Migration, where millions of wildebeest and zebras roam the plains. Finally, visit the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage site, where you can witness a stunning caldera brimming with wildlife. This safari is a captivating journey through one of the world’s most extraordinary natural wonders.

Day 1: A Warm Welcome to the Safari World with a transfer to Tarangire

Wake up early to a delicious breakfast and thereafter begin your journey to the famous Tarangire National Park. Arrive at Camp in time for lunch after which you will leave for an afternoon game drive around Tarangire National Park. Our Camp is one of the friendliest camps in Tanzania. It is located about 6 km from Tarangire National Park and offers some of the most breathtaking views of the Maasai plains.

Day 2: Exploring the Land of Giants Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, you depart for a full-day game drive in Tarangire National Park. This park is renowned for hosting migratory animals like zebras, wildebeests, buffalos and gazelles among others during the dry season. Zebras and wildebeest, which begin their trek in October, are the first to migrate. They trek towards Lake Natron located in the Northeast region. These animals are followed by oryxes, hartebeests, gazelles, elands and buffaloes, which are later, followed by the elephants. However, waterbucks, giraffes, waterbucks and warthogs do not migrate but are left behind in the park. You will have the pleasure of seeing all these animals plus many more. The animals begin to return to the park between June and July.

Day 3: After the tree-climbing lions of Lake Manyara

Your safari proceeds to Lake Manyara National Park on this day. Enjoy a delicious breakfast in the morning and thereafter depart for the park. Lake Manyara National Park is an unspoiled paradise located in Northern Tanzania and was once described by Ernest Hemingway as ‘The loveliest I have seen in Africa’. The park is home to various animals like giraffes, buffaloes, and hippos. You will also spot some of the largest baboon troupes in Africa. It is also renowned for the unique tree-climbing lions.

Arrive at Lake Manyara National Park and head to your lodge where lunch will be served. The lodge’s setting will allow you to enjoy the scenic view of the floor of the Great Rift Valley, Ngorongoro highlands, crater, Olduvai Gorge, The Serengeti, and Lake Manyara. If you are lucky you will also spot the beautiful pink flamingos. Depart for an afternoon game drive in Lake Manyara National Park before returning to lodge for accommodation and dinner.

Day 4: The World Renowned Wildlife Haven of Serengeti

Today you depart for the most famous park in Tanzania; Serengeti National Park after breakfast. Make a stop at Olduvai Gorge, which is famously known as ‘The Cradle of Mankind’ before proceeding to Kubu Kubu tented Camp in the Serengeti. Enjoy your lunch at the camp and thereafter take an afternoon game drive.

Day 5: Explore Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, enjoy a full day in the Serengeti wild. Serengeti National Park is among the most famous parks in Africa and the most famous in Tanzania. It is here that the wildebeest migration begins. Millions of wildebeests and zebras leave Serengeti between July and October and cross over the Mara River into Maasai Mara in Kenya. Later, the wildebeest cross back into the Serengeti at the end of the year and the calving season begins in January. It is quite a spectacle watching thousands of wildebeests giving birth in the wild. Other animals to see in this park include zebras, monkeys, rhinos, lions, giraffes and hippos among others. Return to the camp for an dinner and overnight

Day 6: Discover Africa's Garden of Eden, Ngorongoro Crater

Today you depart to the famous Ngorongoro Crater after breakfast. Ngorongoro Crater, which is named as one of the Wonders of the World, is among the largest volcanic craters in the world.  It is home to over 25,000 animals like the black rhino, Thomson’s gazelle, the Cape buffalo, Maasai lions among others and bird species like flamingos etc. Ngorongoro Crater is 20 Kilometers wide and has a depth of between 610 – 760 Meters. Vegetation in the crater comprises of forests and grasslands. Other features found in the crater are swamps, saltpans and a fresh water lake, which attracts vast birdlife.

Arrive at the crater in afternoon then you can choose to take an afternoon nature walk or spend the rest of the afternoon at the lodge resting.

Day 7: Spend full day exploring Ngorongoro Crater

On this day you take a tour of Ngorongoro Crater. Depart for a full-day game drive at the park after breakfast before returning to the farm lodge later in the afternoon. In the afternoon, enjoy a guided nature walk as you take in the beauty of the vast vegetation, landscape and animals at the floor of the crater. Return to your designated lodge for dinner and an overnight.

Day 8: End of our 8-day Tanzania Safari

This is your last day in Tanzania. After breakfast you will depart to Arusha where you will be dropped at Kilimanjaro International Airport where you will take a flight back home.
