Lemosho route

Day 1:
Kilimanjaro International airport.
The only activity that is likely during this day is airport pickup. Our tour guide/company representative shall wait for you at Kilimanjaro International airport until your arrival. Upon meeting our tour guide, you shall be transferred to your hotel in Moshi for a great relaxation and dinner. You will be briefed about your entire trip and this is the best time to check to ensure that you packed what is necessary for a climbing tour.
Day 2:
Moshi – Londorossi gate & To Shira Camp
Early in the morning after breakfast, you will be driven to the western part of Mount Kilimanjaro national park until Londorossi gate. At the park entrance, you shall continue with the registration and later, you will start your hike under the company of cooks, porters and rangers. You will start ascending past farmland and vegetation as well as a shrub forest. Like any climbing route in Mount Kilimanjaro, this is normally the perfect time to spot some of the wildlife species and birds that inhabit this wonderful park. You will continue ascending past Mti Mkubwa (2830m) until Shira 1 camp where you shall spend the night.
Day 3:
Shira 1 camp- shira 2 camp.
To help in acclimatization, after breakfast, you shall take this short tour to the shira 2 camp. This is a 4-5 hours’ walking journey. Relaxation is normally required to re-energize the body such that you continue on the rest of climbing days with a determined and vigorous mindset.
Day 4:
Moir hut camp.
After breakfasting, you shall continue a strenuous ascend until Moir hut camp. This is a challenging journey however, when you arrive at the camp; you shall have rewarding views of other parts of the mountain that shall make you appreciate your efforts. At the camp, our porters shall pitch up the best tents for you and cooks will be ready to make the best dishes as per your request.
Day 5:
Moir hut camp- Barranco Camp.
Early in the morning, you shall wake up with a focused mind-ready to climb until Barranco camp. Barranco camp offers panoramic views of moorland plateaus; altitudes at this point can be felt. After an energizing breakfast, you will start ascending until Lava tower. This lava tower is at 4550m. Here, you shall lunch, relax, and prepare for the rest of day hiking. After relaxation, you will start descending to the bottom of the great Barranco valley until Barranco camp at 3900m. Dinner shall be served a bit early to give you more time to relax and enjoy a deep sleep.
Day 6:
Barranco camp to Barafu camp.
Prepare for another great day hiking through Mount Kilimanjaro. After a simple breakfast, you will start climbing from Barranco camp to Barafu camp. The day is filled with descends and ascents. During the first phase of the day, you shall descend until Karanga- this journey is not strenuous at all. At Karanga, you will relax and have lunch and later, you will continue ascending until Barafu camp. By the time you arrive in Barafu, it will be evening. At Barafu camp, you have dinner and sleep early to prepare for the summit attempt the following day. Ensure that you have a climbing gear and headlamps as well as other simple necessities for a successful summit climb.
Day 7:
Barafu camp – Uhuru peak (5895m) & Mweka Camp (3100m)
The hike to the summit starts around 1am. After breakfast, which is mainly hot tea and some biscuits or any snack, you shall start moving up the scree that covers the steep slopes of Kibo until the crater rim. You will continue hiking until the Stella point which is 5739m. After the stop at the Stella point, which is normally before sunrise, you will continue hiking until the summit. At the summit, you will take memorable photos and also have great panoramic views of the surroundings, to avoid much fatigue; it is always preferred to spend less time at the summit. Later, you shall start descending until the Mweka camp.
Day 8:
Mweka camp- Mweka gate & later Moshi.
After a wonderful relaxing night at Mweka camp, you shall continue descending to Mweka gate where you will receive your climbing certificates. After saying goodbye to the cooks, porters, and rangers; our tour guide shall drive you to Moshi where you will check in the hotel. Relax and jubilate about this great achievement. The hotel rooms have got internet facilities- at this time; you can share wonderful photos with your loved ones.
