Wildebeest migation

The wildebeest migration is one of the most sought after safaris in Kenya. During this time, we have hotel rates at their peak and tourists flocking in their numbers. Usually the migration happened in Kenya between the months of July and September. However due to the effects of climate change, the animals may start as early as June and end as late as October. The bests months for this are July and August.
Thousands of herbivores migrate from the plains of Serengeti in to the great Masai Mara ecosystem. Apart from the wildebeests, other animals include Thomson’s gazelles, zebras and topi.
There are several reasons that make the Migration in Kenya an out of Africa experience.

Months of thrill and adventure.
Planning for a migration safari is quite easy when you have the correct information. The fact that we have the exact period when this happens, it makes it a good purpose for a Kenya safari. Once the animals start migrating into the Mara, this happened for a good 2-3 months. This is just a good assurance that if you are in the Mara for more than two nights, then you are bound to see the animals cross the might Mara river at one point. The thrill of the immense numbers across the rivers, while hundreds are hunted down and other drown, it is just a totally exhilarating experience in the wild.

Easy access and combination with other destinations.
Maasai Mara is accessible by air and land. Your safari to the Mara can be combined with other destinations in Kenya or even with the Serengeti. Photographers love this program where they follow the path of the migration from the Serengeti in to the Mara. This turns out to be extremely rewarding for them.

Affordable lodges
Kenya has a variety of hotels and lodges from which you can choose from. They vary in costs which is basically determined by the class and the distance from the wildlife conservation areas.
Kenya boasts of very hospitable people who are warm and welcoming. Rest assured the first thing you will receive upon arrival is a warm smile. The same will welcome you when you arrive at the lodges and hotels in the wildlife reserves. Nothing compares to the feeling at home experience when you are away from home.
